hmm ok so I finally figured out the userpic thing, but this pic is just gonna be a filler until i can use the ones chan and i took last night. they are delicious. this picture is some castle in portugal.. uhh yeah i don't know much more about it.
why do I always wait to the last minute to do history?? I just can't get myself to do it doing the week, so now these two days are going to be dedicated to basically finishing my roughdraft and reading ch. 17. i can't wait.
earlier, I searched "Portugal" on livejournal and was searching through all the communities that came up and found one called __bellas_bonitas or something like that. It was so sick, they chose who was in their community based on their beauty so the ones who didn't have the looks they liked, were bashed and couldn't become members. who would subject themselves to that?? it's disgusting. the whole thing was a confidence boost for the girls who were lucky enough to be so-called "beautiful" enough to be chosen.. and the one's who were werent.. well, I guess their self-esteem dropped even lower. sick and shallow.
oh and on the topic of music.. to me, I think music is dividing people. Peoples taste in music is breaking them into their own cliques and groups. It's all over the place, like in the highschool, there's the "country crowd", the "rap/popular music crowd", the "indie crowd", and the "punk crowd". I'm not saying that I'm removed from this, because I'm definently not, but I think all over this is happening subconciously and it;s just another form of making others feel left out and uncomfortable. I, myself listen to music from pretty much all of those categories but sometimes I find myself feeling as if I can't listen to certain artists because I don't fit into one of those groups. I feel some groups give off this pretentious air as if they're cooler than other people because of the music they listen to. Idk, maybe i'm the only one that feels like this..
music is meant to break down walls, not build them up, afterall. We should all let music bring us together so we can eliminate alienation and seperation.
