Thank you so much for warm thoughts.

By the way, I hope it was obvious, I did not participate in building the castle (but I would if I could, because I am quite a geek, too).

Yes, I am extremely fortunate living here right on the coast of the Mexican Gulf. Very fortunate. I do not know I would rather live anywhere else (though Iwould love to be closer to a bigger city, like Austin, which is 3.5 hours from me.)

To put things in perspective, since the last summer I only had to wear shoes 2 times, literally (not counting special occasions whe nI had to dress up.) That is, when I am on the beach, I always walk barefooted, especially while roaming with the ladies.

About ethics, I need to gather my thoughts. I know nothing about Adyashanti and process approach to it.

The way I think about ethics incoprporate several different (sometimes interconnected) ideas:
A) Ethics is a normative system like, e.g., also law, ettiquette, and religion are.
B) It is differen from any other normative system; it's not easy to explain what the differences are, but...
C) One of the differences is that ethical principles are impartial (no one is above no one is below morality).
D) Impartiality requires of us that we must take into account the point of view of everyone who is affected. Some philosophers argue it' a matter of benefits and harms. Other philosophers argue that it's a matter of respecting the choices and will of everyone. One way or another, this part would require much more explaining.
E) another difference is that it distributes specifically moral sanction (like approval of others, feeling of shame, guilt, etc) and not non-moral sanctions (e.g., prison terms (=law), or eternal punishment (=some religions)
F) Another difference is that ethics is especially important; in cases of conflict, the ethical consideration usually (some argue always) trump other considerations. For example, when ethics and law are in conflict, we ought to do what is moral and not what is legal.

I hope this helps a bit. :)
