back from wisconsin, exhausted, and everyone's doin it
top ten ao3 fics by kudos
unsurprisingly the top fic is
stitches, which was the first longfic i ever wrote for spn. given that it's about three years old and made entirely of marshmallow fluff, it got (and still gets) lots of attention
next is (also unsurprisingly)
the inexhaustible silence of houses which is still one of my favourite things i've ever written. i advertised for the dcbb really well that year so it got a good audience
third is
all things shining, also made entirely of marshmallow fluff. that one was so fun. it took almost a year to write because it was a collaboration, but i've never had so much fun with a fic before. hannah was such a great partner. i don't even care that it's romantic to the point of being disgusting, it was a trip.
oh this is kind of surprising?? number four is
hello, i had not realised how many kudos it had amassed! i'm actually considering expanding the 'verse that was founded with this fic, maybe this summer, because i had a ton of fun writing ghost!dean here.
fifth is
for a healthy heart, which was adapted from an @NightValeRadio tweet. i love this one. first real foray into writing an unrequited ship.
scratch is next. i'm surprised it has any kudos at all, considering how long i took to finish it. this one was tough, because i had to be in the PERFECT mood to write a chapter, so there were (sometimes year-long) gaps between them. but i loved figuring out where it was going as i went.
seventh is
every living thing, which has a reputation for being the fic that i hate the most. i got some really well-deserved but nasty criticism about it, and i consider deleting it from time to time. it's not that it's necessarily my worst; it's just the fic that disappointed me the most in the long run. it wasn't a fun dcbb.
kin & keeper is eighth! i've waxed long and poetic about it before, so i won't bore you all with that again. but next to isoh this is probably the most important fic i've written in that it was an incredible experience, even if it didn't get all that much attention.
bearing like being is ninth. i always forget this thing exists. it's several years old and it was my first attempt at thingstiel. i still like it quite a bit!
and last is
your children will come at you with knives, which is pretty cool, considering it's a fairly young fic. people seemed to really enjoy it. i really enjoyed working on it!! it was a quick and dirty project that ultimately came out pretty decently.
what about you guys, what are your top ten?
