I HAVE TO LAUGH. every complaint against this ep i've seen on flist has been a part of the episode i DEARLY ENJOYED. like the music. i see so many of you saying, ugh, what was that music?? meanwhile i was turning to allie to say "this music direction is INCREDIBLE."
lol WHATEVER
as is the case with most perfect episodes i am speechless so i will just say that it was perfect. in my opinion, the best of the season, and honestly, probably the best episode PERIOD since 8.23. THAT'S ME. i was tense, shaking, stressed, emotional--all the best emotions to have during a tv show.
also, am i a bad sam girl if sam's relatively less screentime--doesn't really bother me? the boy is my lifeblood, he is, but i watch Show for Show, not for sam. sam's just the biggest perk in the package, lmao. i was thoroughly okay listening to cain do excellent monologues and watching dean struggle and collapse into his brother's arms.
i heard via twitter of lots of tumblr speculation about sam's closing line and how it's possibly an indication of sam's bible-savvy: if anyone kills cain, cain will be avenged sevenfold. sure, dean's in trouble because of the mark, but now he might be in double-trouble, if scripture holds true. i hope that's the case because mmmmm, angst.
unrelatedly, i think i finally figured out why 10.03 was called "reichenbach," and i am probably the last person on earth to figure it out. the reichenbach story is famous for sherlock holmes faking his death. the only thing that "died" in 10.03 was dean's demon, and i think it's a pretty popular assumption that it's not gone at all. sO. that title may have been a nice bit of foreshadowing
s10's titles have been killer, btw. "the executioner's song"?? let me sWOON.
EDIT: also unrelatedly, have a
fic rec! it made me Feel Things!! it was nice.
