I had a thought while watching the killed-for-being-gay sceen in V for Vendetta. (which I'd never seen before).

Homosexuals are the only group of people being persecuted for simply loving.

They do not hold to a different belief structure, no seperate religion, no seperate country, no political differences, and they don't force their lifestyle onto others (although they would welcome you if you wanted to enter into their lifestyle).   They don't promote their lifestyle with violence, or anger,

They simply want to love another human being.

It pains me to think that most of those who put-down homosexuals with the most vehimence call themselves Christians.  People who believe in a God who, by their own faith's definition, is love.  God is love.  Don't they realize what that means?  It means that God is in everything that involves love.  If there is love of any kind, a piece of God is there.  Sure, you can love unhealthy and negative things, but in that essence of the feeling is the presence of God.  (Although, it could be said that most times when one loves unhealthy or negative things it might be more obsession, indulgence, mental handicap or another variation of that sort. But that's besides the point.)

How can anyone, especially a Christian, insult and hate a fellow person simply because they want to honor, respect and love another one of God's creatures?
