Life in the maid's quarters
The owner of the building Im living in imposed some ridiculous rules. Like how anyone living in the "maids quarters" can't have any overnight guests and guests are supposed to sign in and out and can only stay until 11pm. No smoking in the rooms (the only one who does that here is the super) and roof garden closes at 11. There's no way Im not having Drew stay over. If they're enforcing these rules on us, then why are th eother tenants allowed to have overnight guests? Im not a legal au pair, I just work as a nanny and the people I work for own and pay for my room. I don't even have a legal contract or anything, so they can't do anything about it. Whatever, Im going to go on as I always have and if they kick me out, I really don't care. Drew and I talked about the whole moving in together situation and we might start looking for a place in November so that we can maybe move in together in January. If we can't find any good deals or anything then I guess we could put it off till May or June but I don't know if I could deal with working here for that long. Ive been working longer hrs than Im supposed to and she didn't even pay me last time. I can't even have my boyfriend over without being paranoid and I dont even have a kitchen to have a home cooked meal. I pretty much work almost everyday of the week, or at least thats pretty much what elizabeth expects from me. Im suppose to work for her tomorrow for about 3-4 hours and she wanted me to work for her on sunday from 2:30-6. Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be my off days and there's no way Im gonna work that much. Im going to work tomorrow night but Im definately not working Sunday, maybe I will before 3 but I have so much shit to do. I pretty much feel like Im being exploited here. Not to mention the attitude the tenants have about the people who live on the "maid's floor." THey seriously look down on us. I've never felt so belittled in my life.
