I've been trying to find people from San Marcos to talk to, so I could at least have an off chance at making connections and at some point hopefully friends there. The fact that I don't know anyone from there other than Mary is freaking me out a bit. Making friends has never been easy for me, and I can't rely on her as my only social contact there. That would be quite the strain on the relationship in the long run. I know I shouldn't worry about this at this point, but whatchagonnado. I can strike up a conversation with people online, but when I meet people face to face (ppl I haven't met online), I just clam up. I just do. Besides sooner or later people will realize there isn't anything exotic about the European after all, so I'd rather just talk to people I can actually relate to somehow.
Unfortunately the people in the TX chat rooms on Yahoo are all but friendly, and I haven't been able to find any off-Yahoo chat sites for San Marcos. Any ideas would be welcomed with open arms and muchos muchos appreciation.
