When we moved from Tucson I started packing like 3 or 4 months ahead of time because I was pregnant and working full time and knew that I didn't want to do it all at once. I started with books and posters and things that didn't need to be used. We were pretty much ready to go when it was time. I guess we had more to do in the end than I thought we would and we left Mike and Eva with a lot of last minute errands to do on our behalf, but it wasn't a terrible pack up since I started so early. Moving from our apartment to our house in Cincinnati was different though. This time I had Eloise and got very little done (partially because I didn't really believe we would be moving so soon). Matt's mom came and did practically all the packing and his dad helped him move the stuff. SO,..are your parents busy this month?
BTW, I don't believe you. Well, I think you well begin but not really get anywhere. I hope I'm wrong.

Alright, good advice... I'm hearing start NOW. My mom just visited but I'll bet I could convince her to come around again.

In fact, I DID start packing. I talked to my mom on the phone right after I posted and she told me to do one box a day for a few weeks. That way I won't feel stressed and overburdened, but I can still get a considerable headstart. So I hung up and packed one box. So there.

Good! I'm glad you got good advice from your mom and took it. You are well on your way! Another thing I like to do is find a spot in the house where all packed items go, including emptied out furniture. Then you can see how much you have done...inspiring!

the last time i did a big move i started with the things i don't really need at the time. i moved in the winter...so everything summer was boxed up and ready. it also made it nice 'caause that was the first stuff in the house and got hidden away until i was almost all unpacked.

good luck!

Hows about you pack one room up at a time, leave one box "open" with the essentials that you can't quite pack up just yet, and then the rest all packed and labeled away!

i love your feet, move them around, drink coffee?

Good stuff, people! You've inspired me to get moving.

Yep, a little coffee and some Talking Heads would probably help.
