Last night was fun, played board games with Fred and Joe until all hours of the night (okay more like until midnight.) Today Fred and I went to see Grandma because she had to turn in her license plates and neither of her kids would take her so we volunteered. We were heading into lunch when Grandma missed the curb and fell. Luckily, she's okay but it was kind of scary, especially now since she mostly takes cabs places alone and could easily fall and have no one to help her. Her balance has been really off since Grandpa died, and I'm worried that she's been taking a lot of tranquilizers and that might be making her light-headed. I don't really know what to do about it though, she's seen the doctor and he prescribed her something for it, but who knows if she was honest about what other "meds" she's taking.
The rest of the trip was nice though, Fred and I went to the DMV with Grandma, then to lunch and the supermarket and then watched a bit of this movie, in which Fred Astaire is being a creepy stalker, yet somehow gets the girl. Maybe there's hope for certain creepy people I'm friends with after all. (Then again I don't think Chester can dance like Fred Astaire!)
Now we have a new segment on Kelly's LJ called songs you should listen to because I said so:
1. I.L.B.T's- By Joe Walsh
This song is HILARIOUS, don't listen to it around parents or small children though. I'm pretty sure Joe Walsh wrote it with me in mind!
2. Leather and Lace- Don Henley and Stevie Nicks
Don Henley's vocals on this duet are hauntingly beautiful. Just a very pretty song.
Is love so fragile...
and the heart so hollow
Shatter with words...
impossible to follow
You're saying I'm fragile...I try not to be
I search only...for something I can't see
I have my own life...and I am stronger
Than you know
But I carry this feeling
When you walked into my house
That you won't be walking out the door
Still I carry this feeling
When you walked into my house
That you won't be walking out the door
Lovers forever...face to face
My city or mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather...
Take from me...my lace
You in the moonlight
With your sleepy eyes
Could you ever love a man like me
And you were right
When I walked into your house
I knew I'd never want to leave
Sometimes I'm a strong man
Sometimes cold and scared
And sometimes I cry
But that time I saw you
I knew with you to light my nights
Somehow I'd get by
First time I saw you
I knew with you to light my nights
Somehow I would get by
Lovers forever...face to face
My city or mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather
Take from me...my lace
Lovers forever...face to face
My city or mountains...stay with me stay
I need you to love me...I need you to stay
Give to me your leather
Take from me...my lace
Take from me...my lace
Take from me...my lace
3. Forever- The Beach Boys
You may remember this song as the one that Uncle Jesse sang to Aunt Becky when they got married in Full House. (Later Jesse recorded it and did this really lame video that is on Youtube if you don't believe me.)
