I was so disappointed this summer because I had to choose between Tilly & the Wall and Belle & Sebastian. I chose the latter, but wished I could have seen the former, as well. As my luck would have it, Tilly & the Wall are COMING TO CORNELL. Somebody up there loves me. I'm so excited! SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! I'm gonna see if anyone wants to go with me, but I may just have to stag it.
My dad came to visit this weekend. It was kind of a surprise because he had called to say he couldn't make it and then called again to say he'd be here around 11:30pm Friday night. Boy am I glad I didn't go get crunk wit' my homies. Well, Friday night, I had just come back from the mall with my friends, where I had purchased 3 shirts and 1 skirt on sale at 85% off. Kind of amazing. Then I had to run from my room to the Statler Hotel to find my dad, who'd gotten lost on campus. We borrowed Hasini's air mattress and he spent the night. Then Saturday morning after breakfast [who the f*** eats breakfast?!] we went to the Carousel Center mall in Syracuse. The drive was pretty long, but the mall was pretty schweet. I got 2 new tops from H&M, we watched "Crank" [kind of AWESOME], and had milkshakes at Johnny Rockets. We got back in time for dinner and then watched "Snakes on a Plane" before falling asleep. Sunday we had brunch, then headed out to downtown Ithaca. He got me a new pillow and blanket and soap and other things I needed for my dorm. Then we went to the Pyramid Mall and watched "The Covenant" [not half bad]. Then we drove around. We got back in time for dinner, then hung out with my friends for a while. When we got back I tried to do some homework, but I was too lost, so we watched "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang." I seriously LOVE that movie.
Now I have to make an appointment with my optometrist. Friday I have an appointment with the Dean of Undergraduate Studies for the English Department so I can officially declare my major. I also have to see the Dean of the Cornell Abroad Program, so I can start applying for England.
I bought this little French manicure kit and painted my nails last night. It looks really nice, I've never had a French manicure before. My natural nails are so long that they look like acrylics. At least, they would if they weren't so thin and petite.
Yesterday, as we drove to the mall, I saw Ithaca High School. Their mascot is the "Lil' Red." That is so SWEET!!! I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
I'm upset that the Cornell store no longer offers that sweatshirt that Joey and I wanted. I really loved that style.
Quote of the day: "It's always been one of my minor ambitions not to be one of the final victims of the conflict between Catholics and Protestants."
