Books and introversion

Wow! Suddenly old friends are updating their livejournals constantly again! I enjoy reading their posts, though I can't think of anything specific to say in comments. LJ posts are so much better than 140-character status updates.

I've been reading a couple of books lately . I've spent today reading a biography of atahualpa Yupanqui, and another book that I thought would be close readings of lyrics and poetry written by Yupanqui but has turned out to be "compare everything Yupanqui wrote to a bible verse for your meditating pleasure, complete with recommendations for what Spanish translation of the bible you should be using in your daily devotions." I've been interested to learn that even Yupanqui practiced a lot of the classical stuff I'm practicing right now, (specifically Carulli and Sore,) and that at the beginning he had some trouble with position changes.

I've also been Reading "En el tiempo de las Mariposas," a literarily so-so but exciting and riveting in a shallow Allende sort of way book about The Dominican Republic and its foresight in becoming the first Latin American dictatorship in the 20th century.

I realize that I've only written about guitar for the past few months now. A lot has been happening, but I don't exactly know how to tell the world about it. it's getting warmer, I'm balancing personal and professional life at the expense of both like a good U.S. citizen, compromising the now by thinking about the future and the future by thinking about the now.
