good bye parkway

i remember my first trip to the parkway, maybe 97-98? a local theater that serves you food and drinks? never heard of it. friends all snuck in being under 21, and i ended up sitting in a chair with 3 legs. we watched contact, and hollered back at the aliens from vega/vegans. every show i went to had the spirit of oakland in the crowd. even when i checked out the rocky horror picture show (which i may never go back to), i had a cultured experience. parkway closed last night, after a 12 year run.

kinda sums up oakland though.

think about all the coolest festivals, restaurants, and events oakland has had over the years. never meant to last.
we spark, we innovate, let some one else run with it, and move on. which is much like my creative style. i don't get caught in the details or fine tuning. i'm moved by the concepts, or the sparks ignited in a brain's storm. maybe that's why l live here.
