... Seems that it is possible that time back home is passing at the same rate as it is here. Or faster... I knew that was probable, but I was sure that we would be returned to the time we left. That was a false certainty at least. If we return to Japan now...

No way of knowing, the best I can do is think that we will get there in time. Nothing can be gain by thinking about getting there too late.
