Back to the City

It’s weird to be back in the city. I can’t get used to driving...or seeing all the people downtown...or driving aimlessly down the highway...or any of that. I was in Fish Creek and Peninsula State Park all last week, so I was able to stay away from cars and “commercialism”, as it’s called. But going to the post office today, it all hit me at once. I didn’t used to think anything of being here, but now I want to be back in the park with all of the camping people and guys with long grey hair and campfires and long hikes in Teva sandals. (I haven’t worn socks since Sunday!!) And people actually use their SUVs for the right reason. I saw one with two kayaks on the top and two bikes on the back. The other day, I biked 10 miles to get a bag of sugar to make Kool Aid. But, maybe something is just wrong with me.

But, no use thinking about it. Summer will be great. :)
