Long overdue update.
From an e-mail I sent to another list:
Everyone!
Well, I'm back. At least online! Brent delivered his "care package" today, and I am absolutely floored, humbled, and blessed at the responses that I've read and at this amazing gift of communication to the outside world. I know I have a ton of thank yous to e-mail but in my catching up for now, thank you, all of you, for your support, well=wishes, and outpouring of love in this difficult period for me and my family. It truly means everything to me to know and realize the friends I have in this world.
Current status - doing well from the knees up. My feeding tube was removed yesterday, so I am 100% connection free as far as hospital machines go. My legs are slowly healing. My next appointment to get them checked is on the 31st, so I'll be here at least until then. Once my feet can be weight-bearing, I'll be moving on to therapy to walk again, Lord willing.
My internet is limited - I have Gmail and Livejournal, but not Facebook (it's blocked on my connection). I haven't tried AIM yet. Or Skype. I'm getting there. If you want to reach me, e-mail here is probably your best option. But at least I'm online.
I'm going to keep this brief for now - I'll try to check in regularly with new news. I still would love to see and hear from whoever wants to spend the time to talk with me - interwebs is great to have back, but phone calls and visits have been my lifeline these last several weeks. For those that I've heard from - thanks so much.

PS: The biggest blessing of all is for my wife, blondebinky. She has been my angel through all of this, and there is no way I can ever truly thank her for her strength, support and love through all of this. I love you.
