In Honour Of The Greatest Canadian

The Tommy Douglas Collegiate Institute is scheduled to open this September.  Located in the western part of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the school is named for the late, great, and much-missed Thomas Clement Douglas.

Tommy Douglas was a former Premier of Saskatchewan, a founding member of the New Democratic Party, the father of Canadian Medicare, and was named Greatest Canadian by participants in a national poll.  Why it's taken so long for him to get a secondary school named after him is beyond me.
