Dedicated to: Kushina. Rock on, girl~♥
With a pant, she waited to see the outcome of the last attack, counted the seconds that ticked by until the cloud of dust that had gathered finally settled. One by one, the kunoichi's discarded weapons came back into focus, some laying innocently in the dirt, others piked deeply into the ground as if they were tombstones of a grave site. A forest of steel to mark her efforts to end this spar before she finally lost her stamina. But to both Mei's pride and disappointment, the shadowed outline of her friend and opponent came into view, looking poised and prepared to continue for as long as necessary to win.
Of course she would come back ready for more.
The first day she had met Kushina, Mei remembered thinking only one thing. And to this day, she still holds true to her initial conception of the older woman. However, where ignorance and mystery had filled in the gaps of assumptions back then, now there was truth and experience to back up her claim.
"Come on, Hime-chan, I know you can do better than that," the red-head shouted from across the field, her smirk evident and clear even from where Mei stood.
Kushina, former shinobi of Uzu, was one of the most energetic people to have ever walked the earth.
