So today has been a great day!
I got up this morning at the butt-crack of dawn. Literally.
The girls decided that at 5:30 in the morning they were ready to get up. Being that the place I am sleeping is in the living room of this cabin I could see the light under their door. I walked in and they were about to goof off. I showed them that it was still DARK outside and told them to get back into bed. That lasted an hour, and at 6:30 I diverted them to their mom in the other room. I ended up spending the next couple hours half-asleep a pillow over my head while the girls goofed off and played.
We then hung around the rec center and shot some hoops and goofed off. Mamaw and Papaw then met us there. Came back, had lunch. Then we went to the Arts & Crafts area. Which I thought was going to be really boring. I don't mind sitting and watching the girls paint, but I knew it would not be the most entertaining thing to do. Plus there are stables on this resort property I wanted to see but was at the mercy of everyone else's desire. Got the Art & Crafts place and it was a blast. I actually painted along with the girls. They had many ceramic figures and plaques that could be painted. Angela painted a Dog plaque thing. Mel and I both painted these colts. They were plain but adorable. Mel painted her colt brown with white spots and glitter and a purple blaze down its head. I painted my colt the exact way my dream horse would look. Interestingly enough I have never painted anything other than a peice of paper in the 6th grade. I am really happy with how mine came out. I painted that colt up. A black coat with white large spots all over. A black and white Tovero/Overo/Tobiano whatever it may be colt. I will take a picture of it and post it up when I have a chance this week. I don't have a card reader on this computer.
Then we went to eat at Ruby Tuesday's which was great. Oh, before that went to the stables, it was closed, I guess for the season, the horses were so far away I could only see the faint outline of them. So went to Ruby Tuesday's - it was good. Went to see "Because of Winn-Dixie" Which was adorable!!! It was a great movie. Tear-Jerker, heartwarming, clean. Dave Matthews did awesome in his role. It was kind of a quiet role, not very strong in the movie, but important. The dog was adorable. What was more amazing to me is how a 30-something year old, 21-year old, 7 year old, and 5 year old can cry together in a movie. I have never seen kids cry in tear-jerker style movies. Then I found out that Mel and Angela cry along with Extreme Makeover-Home Edition. One of their favorite shows.
So anyway, today was great. I am going to see Nik Thursday to spend a few days with her and then pick up Tigress. Yay!
