Blah blah blah, some shit happened this week. You don't care, I don't feel like piecing my memory together for most of it.
Anyways.
Saturday, I drove 4 hrs through snow, passing everything from state troopers to cars in ditches to semi's ... to go to a LAN. And it was a blast. I had the least comfortable chair ever created, but that didn't stop me from rocking some serious skulls. We played CS till the wee hours of the morning, slept, then I got up and played some more. I drove home to my loving lass and spent the rest of the evening cuddling our brains out.
Tub Ring, as you may recall, made it to the final round of the Dew Circuit Breakout. It took place Saturday night in NYC. Tub Ring played "Future was Free", survived the first elimination, played a cover of J.Timberlake's "Rock Your Body" (I'm looking for an mp3, kids ... don't worry) and got the crowd fired up. Hellogoodbye, the other band, played an original song and covered Ashley Simpson's "La La". The crowd was chanting "TUB RING, TUB RING" throughout the show ... but Tub Ring lost. Hellogoodbye had the internet vote behind them, and they pulled out the win. Boo. But, while Hellogoodbye started their last song, the crowd started chanting again ... and Hellogoodbye asked the crowd not to kill them. :D The good news - Tub Ring was so juiced up from the whole business that they lined up a tour for January. Yay.
I KNOW you care.
It should be noted, though, that yesterday was a day of mourning. While everyone was remembering Dimebag and the guitarist from Death ... you should also remember the amazingly talented Lynn Strait, who died in '98 in a car wreck. He was the singer for Snot, a band who could have changed the shit out of rock ... if they'd had the chance. Lynn died while the band was recording their 2nd album. Download "Stoopid", "Get Some", "My Balls", "I Jus' Lie", or the ironic "Joyride". Crank it up and enjoy some unbelievably great music.
