Allow me to introduce you to kingofdecisions from the manhua The Ravages of Time.
He comes from 200 A.D. China, where he serves the warlord Cao Cao as a military advisor. He's a scholar opposed to a warrior; while he may not fight, his mind is sharp and he's always planning. He presents a blithe, casual, often smug front. Yet underneath he is very decisive and driven, quickly becoming amoral and apathetic when it suits his needs. Guo Jia works by way of the darkness principle, you see, which effectively takes 'the end justifies the means' to extreme lengths. His coughing may well disturb your character(s)'s sleep at some point, as he just so happens to be slowly dying from respiratory-related illness. Wasn't it kind of me to bring him into this environment?
