It was better to be busy then sitting and waiting for some other thing to blow up in all of their faces. That was a simple and easy fact to understand. Even with the buzz in her head that she hadn't really made any attempt to get rid of, she could still understand that.
Yuffie had a lot to think about when she took the past couple of days into account, between people getting hurt, putting Reeve in a different place in the hospital (that still worried her, no matter that it was supposed to be a good thing), her breakdown in front of Subaru, Zack's break down, therapy, and the crazy day to day stuff that was all but unavoidable, she was starting to get used to stress as a constant. Not that it wasn't back home...but she knew how to deal with that kind. And this stress was quite different.
They were playing a game with less then half of the rules, and that put her on edge.
She was, however, looking forward to talking to Matt, partly because he was interesting conversation, and partly because he really seemed interested in the other places, like her world, or other times. That, and she had a reason to take her materia out. The crystals had been shoved in her pockets, except for Leviathan. She was playing with that one. It made her much more comfortable to have them, even if they were kind of a safety blanket at the moment more then anything else.
Rolling the crystal around in her palm as she walked Yuffie made the decision to carry at least this one around. She didn't like leaving them in her room, but it wasn't practical to carry them around when they didn't serve a purpose and were really heavy in her pockets.
Finally getting to the door, Yuffie knocked on the frame and peeked in.
"Matt? It's Yuffie! can I come in?"
