Day: 17, after Hisoka's therapy

Summary: Rin and Matt go to chase out Joshua and remind Hisoka of what his most recent purpose was.
DAY/NIGHT & Time: Evening, after Hisoka's therapy

It made her so angry that she wanted to throw things, or scream at someone, or get out her sword and - but never mind that. Anger was pointless now, wasn't it? And she'd need to be calm to meet with Hisoka. As much as she could be, at least, when someone she'd come to consider a trusted peer and a friend was angry and confused and bereft of his memory - a memory that he didn't wholly trust in the first place. It was sickeningly cruel, and completely unsurprising, that they'd choose to do such a thing to him, knowing that he relied on his mind and his memory so much, and feared for their integrity. But he'd always been smart, and quick to adapt. There was no choice: they had to fill him in as much as they could, as fast as possible.
Not that they were completely bereft of evidence, however. Rin pinched one of the lists they'd written in between her fingers - one of the lists, specifically, that Hisoka had written, his neat, even calligraphy distinct from her small lettering and Matt's sloping scrawl. Hisoka would recognize his own handwriting, wouldn't he? He'd remembered his life before.
If the doctors thought they could break up the project this easily... well.
They didn't have to find out that the triad had survived. But they wouldn't win, either.
Matt was outside, his... "cigarette" dangling from his lips and his back pressed against his door. Rin paused, gave him a short, tense smile. "Let's go."
