"Not great." Ciel admitted. "I'd love some tea, have some one bring some...if it's not too much trouble."

Another strange formation of words to be coming out of his mouth. Ciel didn't really know how to react to someone being kind, everyone had an ulterior motive or was bound by duty. That was how he knew the world worked.

He couldn't help but notice the stuffed rabbit and instinctively reached for it. "Is that your work, it's quite good. Do you make toys?"

"I imagine not, after the wounds you got yesterday. I didn't quite see it all... where were you hit?" Bringing him tea might be a bit hard, but Reeve figured if all else failed, he could appeal to that rather creepy nurse, Joshua... the one who giggled all the time. "And I'll try to get you some tea. It might take me a bit of time, though."

How odd, that the boy was so formal. Could it be a reaction to the environment? Or, as it was with Reeve, was he still thinking uncomfortably of the previous day's therapy? "Yes and no. I didn't make the stuffed animal, but--"

"but he made m' come t' life. Magic an' all tha'." Cait tilted his head, awkwardly waving a plush paw at Ciel. There was no objections from him in being picked up, just a twitch of his ears. "Er, mebbe not magic. We ain' really figured out how he does it yet. Anyways~ 'm Cait Sith, I am! Ain' usu'lly in a bunny suit, but they didn' lemme keep m' real body when I got here."

Reeve sighed, watching Cait and finally chuckling softly when he stopped talking. "... what he said."

Ciel held the little bunny and for a just a moment, his uncovered eye held the spark of enchantment. "What an amazing thing you are."

In the next moment, the thick veneer of being proper and practical blocked the growing whimsy. The boy set the rabbit down as if it were painful to hold and turned his attention to Reeve.

"I have a pretty nasty burn," he rolled up his sleeve to show the wound on his left arm, "It hurts even when this light fabric brushes against it."

He shifted a little nervously, the idea of a complete stranger wanting to help him was at best confusing. He hoped he was right about Reeve being a nice man. He took a deep breath and turned to show Reeve the extent of the burn.

"Those things you said last night...how terrible for them to happen to you so young. And yet, you still make eh summon things such as that little rabbit. You must be very strong of heart."

Cait preened under the attention; his button eyes would have been glowing if it were possible. "'m e'en more amazin' in m' real body! This ain' nothin ( ... )

Ciel noticed the difficulty he was having. "I could get that I can see they've already done a number on you. Your arm seems pretty bad."

He took the tube from Reeve, opened it, and gave it back. "Here, this will help." The buttons being the mess they were anyway were easy enough to undo. Ciel removed his blouse to make it easier for the older man. He trembled a bit, but smiled and said, "Can I hold the bandage while you wrap it or anything?"

The one thing he didn't do was pick up the line of conversation about where he'd come from.

Reeve glanced down in surprise when Ciel took the ointment away, then quirked a half-smile. "It was another staff member... but yes. Avoid a person named Paul. He's a sadist of the highest degree."

The trembling was unmistakable, and Reeve couldn't blame him. Given all that had happened in such a short span of time, and with his history of abuse, it was understandable. He wasn't really very fond of the idea of touching another person himself. "If it hurts too much, or if you get too uncomfortable, just tell me and I'll stop, all right?" he said quietly, handing Ciel the bandages. "I know... I'm not comfortable with people getting close to me."

Reeve didn't comment on the evasion, but simply began applying the ointment in thin layers over the angry red flesh of his back. He was gentle, or as gentle as he could be with only one hand to use and nothing to keep his balance with. "This could have been much worse. The ointment has antibiotic properties, and has a mild numbing agent; it won't remove all the pain, but it should dull it
