It had so far been an eventful few days to say the least, which is why it had taken he a while to catch up and check on the kid. He'd not been too clear on how bad off he was, but she could hope things were at least...marginally okay? Well, he wasn't dead. Which couldn't be said for the other guy who'd been attacked that night.
...She felt a little bad for the moment of feeling relief that it hadn't been Doumeki who'd gotten the short end of the stick that night, but overall, she was just relieved. Daphne knew her grasp on dealing with other people had always been not amazing, and then here it was shaky at best. Hey, at least she knew she had a problem, right? Thinking back to nurse boys little denial act with a sigh. Yeah, that was....That was great. ....Just cause she gave advice didn't mean she wanted it FOLLOWED. There was a difference...She was allowed to be a bitch. Other people had to make the good decisions or..or something. She didn't like people disapointing her...though it wasn't really disappointing her...Just annoying to add to the mess of morally grey that was going on.
Daphne slowed down to go into the room, half expecting Doumeki to be up and having that completely dashed to peices seeing him.
Holy fucking shit.
She sped without really noticing she had until she was standing over him, eyes wide and surprised. So much for 'marginally okay'. Or even okay at all. The kid was a MESS and that was probably an understatement. She'd been in and out of hospitals enough as a kid to see a lot of people in bad shape and then here had added to her experience with them and...and honestly she had thought that the whole eye removal thing had been a very nice wake up call to the kind of shit that happened here, but this was worse. Because at least with the other there had been an attempt at fixing it up and...oh god.
