DAY/NIGHT & Time: Day, after this incident.

Weiss had wasted no time in making a stunning impact, and with it, a mess. The remnants of his former roommate, Mugen, were left crumpled limply off to the side, his skull visibly cracked with the contents oozing out in a rather grotesque manner. Rust colored blotches of blood effectively, and possibly permanently, stained portions of the wall, floor, and bed. The thin blanket that had been spread on the bed previously now lay discarded in a heap smeared with blood, Weiss having used it to wipe himself clean. All in all, it hadn't taken long for his cell to acquire a more personal touch, even if it wasn't the most pleasant of ones.

Despite the apparent triumph, it'd be a lie to claim that he himself had walked away unscathed. Since his arrival, he had seemed determined to push his body to its physical limits, and the wear and tear he had endured over the past few days visibly showed. His exposed torso housed a number of nasty gashes and bruises, and behind them, his body burned and ached with a dull throb from the strain he had placed on it. As for his face, a broken nose provided by Vincent throbbed rather nastily, going a step further to leave dark circles around his eyes, and though he had relocated his arm, it was far from perfect condition.

Even then, he wasn't prepared to stop, not willingly. Though St. Edelweiss had bore a number of distinct similarities to Deepground, there were a few obvious differences as well. Weiss was perfectly aware that his body had suffered the forced trade from indestructible to human, and it was for this reason that he pushed himself. Aside from the battle with Chaos, it had been a long time since anyone could even touch him, and it was fatal to know just what his body was capable of under these conditions. He was also curious to see how the other patients measured up as well, all of it tying back into his instinct for survival, a trait from Deepground that hadn't left him no matter how strong he got.

There was also a dull echo of excitement that pushed him so, a renewed sense of purpose, serving as motivation other than his innate instinct. It had been a long time since he ached as he did now, since he could even use his body freely, and it was a thrilling, alive feeling. Once again, he was being challenged by his surroundings, giving him direction to work for other than the distant hope of freedom. Where others might mourn the loss of their power, Weiss saw it only as an opportunity to grow stronger.

When the other two men had presented their challenge, Weiss had accepted swiftly and without hesitation, wanting to take every opportunity he could. While he waited for them to arrive, he sat lost in his thoughts recovering from the most recent encounter, thinking of the state his body would be in after this encounter.

And he laughed.
