Momiji relaxed a little when Subaru moved a little towards her, even though he sounded a little different. A little wrong, almost. He was looking at her with eyes that were so cold, so hard and yet they were still so very, very sad. She wasn't sure what was wrong, what it was that had changed or happened to make it seem so different from what he'd sounded like yesterday. It was enough to make her smile falter slightly as she tilted her head to the side.
Regardless of what it was that was wrong with him, she felt the need to make him feel better. To make him understand that even for someone like her, who was born to be nothing more than a sacrifice to keep the world safe, this was a happy place. Someplace to belong.
When she'd first gotten here, she'd been so confused. Alone and wondering why it was that she'd been sent to a place that was cold and dark and wet, and some place that was so different from the kind of place she'd ever thought she'd be sent.
I love you.... I love all of you...
She didn't feel as though she'd changed that much since she'd gotten here. She still wanted to help people, and she was willing to do anything that she had to to keep safe in this place. She wasn't ready to be a sacrifice for just anything. She wanted to help protect the people that sounded so sad here.
Subaru-kun and Jack-san and Hige-san... She wanted to make sure all of her friends were safe.
“I'm still real good, Subaru-kun. I've been sleeping a lot, and it's been feeling really good to get to sleep so much! I think it's been warmer, too. Are you sure you're okay? You look a little strange.”
He also smelled a little strange, but she didn't want to seem rude or anything.
