Shit. Shit. Shit.
This couldn't be happening, it just couldn't. Niki was past this, she'd beaten this issue already. She'd gone to prison because of Jessica, nearly lost her son, and even almost killed her husband. That was all in the past now though, she thought. She settled things with Jessica, and didn't need her help anymore. Bob Bishop and the Company had even tried to convince her that Jessica wasn't gone, that there could be other personality fractures in her head, but that had to have been bullshit.
Then she wound up here, in St. Edelweiss, where she was not just told that she had split personalities, but she was also being treated for it. Still though, she knew that she wasn't crazy. Jessica had even confirmed that before she disappeared.
She'd learned to handle it though, to take the treatment, and let them believe they were helping her. Making her better.
The fire happened though, and the next thing she knew she was being promoted to a nurse here, going over the practices expected of her. Large gaps in her memory started occurring once more, but she'd learned to ignore it, learned to ignore the way her reflection moved just a fraction of a second off from her body.
Now though, it seemed impossible to ignore, someone calling her by that name. The same someone saying that things had... Happened... Between them, and she didn't even know who he was. Even worse, she was married. She didn't want to know the truth, though she knew it already, but it was becoming hard to ignore.
Thus, she walked through the halls, a couple sedatives tucked away just in case this man tried anything, holding out that he was possibly lying. Finally, she arrived and slowly pushed opened the door.
"John?" He asked as she slowly stepped inside, her voice sounding much more timid than usual, even for her.
