As more people are exposed to steampunk fashion, the inevitable result is that you will find it popping up in your local shopping venues.  Sure enough, I recently poked around at my local Roses Store and found several steampunk-worthy tops for between $5 and $15 each.  [Examples:  tailored white cotton blouse, high ruffled collar, short puffy

No problem. I've also seen a good number of Victorian-inspired stuff at Target, including shoes. Have her poke around in there and elsewhere. It also pays to haunt the thrift stores on a regular basis. You might find nothing this week and then score a bag of great stuff on the next trip. I try to be choosy, otherwise I end up with stuff taking up space.
