The updated outfit
Thank you so much for all the advice about how to proceed with this costume.
I did some serious revamping, threw some stuff out, added other stuff, and came up with this. (My husband is not super amazing with the camera, a thousand apologies.)

I do like the change of blouse from the original idea. Good choice.

I had the jacket made (the one piece I've ever actually had made for me :) ). The shoulders are a little too broad, but we erred on the side of letting me move freely.
