Wilde Hunt Corsetry - The Tattoo Corset

Hello Friends,

I want to share with you a unique corset I recently completed which I think might be attractive to those who are into Steampunk and Victoriana . If you follow my email newsletter , you may remember me mentioning a big collaboration with another local artist. Well, after a year and a half of hard work and experimentation, I am pleased to present to you The Tattoo Corset.







The Tattoo Corset came into being through a unique collaboration between model Tamara Mitchell, artist 
Kat Marie Moya, and myself, corsetière Larissa Boiwka of Wilde Hunt Corsetry.  Mitchell was a fan of the artistic tattoos of Kat Marie Moya (F14 Hellkat) but could never decide which design to choose for such a permanent piece of art. Our solution was a collaboration. Why not make a corset of tattooed leather? Moya would create the tattoo artwork and Wilde Hunt Corsetry would create the corset. After much trial and error, we happened upon a process which we believe produced a rather striking, indelible result which closely mimics the look of tattooed skin. The Tattoo Corset features fluid Art Nouveau designs rendered in Moya's signature razor-sharp linework upon cream colored leather.



I want to acknowledge and thank my many collaborators on this project including photographers Aaron Kennison and Chas Ray Krider, makeup artist Erica Stewart, as well as Paul Rothrock for digital image assistance. This unique project would not have been possible without their generosity of time and expertise. I feel privileged to have worked with each of them.
