I feel like I'm still a bit too colorful to be considered steampunk, but I'm working on it... and I made more little hats and clips that I think people here might like. :)
Seconded! Steampunk is so often associated with very dull colours and it's really inaccurate! whatever happend to opulent rich red velvet drapes or deep blue satin fabrics? Just because you need to gear up in leather to fix that engine doesn't mean you can't get gussied up for the town. ^__^
Yeah, I just haven't seen a lot of colorful outfit yet, but since I'm new to this and there's not much steampunk action going on in my region, I'm learning. ;) I'll try to come up with more accessories to steam up my outfits.
And I must say, your concerns about being "too colorful" for steampunk are quite unfounded. Steampunk is extremely colorful. The Victorians loved their colors and their patterns, and with the technology provided by a steampunk context, you can have all manner of bright and vibrant colors (from chemical dyes) and elaborate patterns (from machine-woven fabrics).
