i wanna talk about my weekend.
i had a pretty amazing weekend. probably the most fun ive had in weeks. let me tell you about it.
friday afternoon i left with attitude to be the official road dog for the weekend. tomcore was way sick and felt like shit when they picked me up. about 10 mins before we hit the road, tomcore decides hes too ill to do the weekend and askes to get dropped off. i go from offical road dog to offical bass player for the weekend. i learn all the songs on the road to albany, mostly just the demo stuff and a few others. we get to albany and set up merch and shit. we played at this bar called valentines. lotsa cute girls there. we set up play a pretty decent set and i actually pull off the songs despite my hesitation. after that a pretty terrible misfits cover band played. fun was had by all though. after the show we grab tacos and hit the road to nashua to spend the night at my house.
we get in around 3am, finally fall asleep by like 430. the next morning my parents made a huge breakfast for all of us. we ate it opposite my sister and her 2 13 year old friends. they were so loud, obnoxious and gitty. i forgot what its like living with a 13 year old sister. i didnt get to see tori though which was a bummer, but still happy to see everyone else. we ate, grabbed some food for the road, fixed the van door and headed up to portland maine. after a couple wrong turns and quests for gas through old manchester we finally made it, late of course.
the show in portland was wicked fun. tons of bands played. one band did a no sweat cover which was pretty fucking funny, esp with a drunk eric f. singing the breakdown to reach around. I drank a enegry drink for the first time and got way shaky and jumpy. made for an energetic set. right when we about to go on the promoter told us we had about 30mins to set up, play and take down. we played 7 songs in 9mins. probably the best set of the weekend. kids were into it, we all had good stage presence, played well. seriously so much fun. Jimmy G of murphys law kept singing attitude between songs while we were playing. the dude is seriously one of the coolest dudes ive met. way stoked on attitude, stoked to hear attitude was a hardcore band and not a metal band. told us to tell tomcore hes a fucking pussy for not comming along. gave mike x a free tee shirt. just a real great dude. murphy's law was so fucking awsome. they did a ZZtop cover and sent it out to attitude. one of the funniest things about the set was thier new guitarist went to su and had some classes with eric f. we went to a party last year at his place. he was rediculously high the whole time and went with me, brian and some other dude to pick up beer. he was singing bob marley the whole time in a hawian shirt. fucking wierd.
after the show we went to dennys and hung out with some hardcore kids and went to this girl kara's dorm to sleep. terrible nights sleep, but a good time. woke up to see two hot lesbains in kara's roomates bed. pretty stoked on that. next morning we left for new rochelle ny, probably like a 5 hour drive. when got down there and pulled into this wicked nice neighborhood. the show ended up being at this house in the basement. so tiny, hot, and reaked of feet. i went upstairs to shit cause i hadnt all weekend and i got locked in the bathroom. it took me like 10 mins to get out with the the threat of getting caught blowing up this dudes bath room. there was a bunch of kids there so that was cool and they were stoked on attitude. we left to to try to get this amazing pizza everyone in attitude is stoked on but ive never tried. the place ended up closing so we got amazing chinese food instead. we pulled in around 130am.
sucha good weekend. mike x asked me to go on tour as the road dog this summer. they are going all over the US. id be fun as hell. but i still think im moving to nyc. if i can afford it that is. i just found out though that someone might sublet my room this summer which would help me out soooo much. i hope it works out.
in two weeks, HTL and Black SS are coming to new england. were playing in vermont on friday the 22, doing a live radio set in boston on the 23rd and playing albany sunday the 24th. ill give you more details soon. get into it.
i feel the need to analyze my posts when im done with them. this one was all over the place. im a terrible writer.
