Finally finished the cover to the one shot, "An Unbridled Imagination"!!
And with this, I'm officially done inking the one shot!
A reference to the painting
The Night Watch. Why, oh, why did I decide to use this painting? Why didn't I decide to use
The Ambassadors like Trillzey so cleverly suggested?
At least I'm done, I wash my hands of this project! Actually, I'm lying, I'll probably still be working on it. I had a lot of fun, though, it's a little different than any other story I've drawn.
Anyway, a doodle I drew of a character who will be showing up in
Two Keys (It's now part of Manga Magazine! Check it out!)
Drew him while watching the first episode of
sherlock, which is actually a really fun show. Sherlock is such a quirky weirdo, and just generally fun to watch.
As far as the character goes, his name is Solder, like the alloy. He's supposed to be a sorcerer and a friend of Colin's from way back.
But anyway, a funny story... as I was drawing it in my sketchbook,
threeeyesworm noticed that it looked like our mutual friend. I took a look at the sketch... and he does. Almost to the T.
I hope he doesn't get offended when this character goes through all sorts of cheese graters. But anyway, Bevan (the friend) kindly lent me a book on alchemy and the history of alchemy, which I used to reference his (Solder's) tattoos. So I guess in a way I did base him off Bevan.
And here's a pic of Arthur in suspenders.
He's holding a mug that says YALE on it because this GQMF went to YALE.
Drew this for Melissa, after remarking on the silliness of having a
Yale sweater if one hasn't been to Yale.
