So the Hot Date turned out to be indeed the hottest date I have ever been on. It was excellent. Will and I got along as well as I thought we would, and probably even better. I already have the Stamp of Approval from his best friend, who pulled me aside in a bar last night to tell me how great of a guy Will is. As if I couldn't tell.

I made the mistake, of course, of not calling to alert anybody in my family that I would not be returning home until 7:45 AM, just in time to take a shower and leave for work. Oooops. First thing Jack said to me this morning: "Dude, that was so shady." Ok, agreed. Yes Mom, I undertand why you were worried when I went to Denver to meet some guy from the internet (an admittedly sketchy way to meet people) and then never answered my phone and still wasn't home when everyone woke up in the morning. But I'm not sorry. That date was too good to be sorry for.

I talked to Will tonight and he told me again how great of a time he had, and that I left my earrings and will have to come back. I'm going back next Sunday, which is really as soon as possible, given that I'll be at camp all week in the meantime. Right before we got off the phone he told me "I miss you," which was a nice surprise, as I had been thinking the same thing but hadn't said it for fear of sounding too clingy or overeager or ridiculous (how can you already miss someone you just met?). But it didn't actually sound like any of those things; it just sounded like we like each other and would prefer to be in the same place.

And THAT is the story of my love life's amazing knack to let the right things fall into the right places at the right times.
