Today I learned from my Swiss friend that in the UK they keep the same "visual" price on coffee at places like starbucks. Here, a coffee is $3.10, for instance. There, it's still between 2.50 and 3.50 -- pounds though. I was shocked! You're talking about capitalism and "massively profitable franchises." There, they make about 6 - 7 dollars on a single cup of coffee.

I didn't, actually. I just knew that Starbucks hasn't been well received abroad and has all but failed in the Australian market.

oh, and I was so patriotic I wore white and red...and aught some blue beads from the jamaicans that work for Carleson's Orchards.
