I just got to see this (it was damned hard not finding out who won before I saw the tape) I generally dislike award shows, but because I saw most every film and performance nominated this year (in film not TV), I had more heart to see what the press thought.
in order of the pics I found on yahoo...
Best Actor in a Drama (this is a freaking comedy folks!)
Not so happy about this choice but Jack is a legend unto himself so werd.
he didn't win anything but sheeeeeeeeeyat
Best Drama: The Hours!!!!!! yay he even brought the women up to share the moment
Awwwwwwww Renee made me cry. SHUT UP she's from Houston too and Chicago has been a dear to my heart show for 15 years so :-p
Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical: Renee Zelwegger
this was like watching the Superbowl for me...
YAY! Nicole Kidman for Best Actress in a Drama. She has really grown on me since Eyes Wide Shut. This performance was just, well if you've been reading my lj you know.
hey look who finally won something! Too bad it was for one of his worst films. I'll still take it. Marty has been robbed too many times. Best director goes to Martin Scorsese.
aww! Meryl Streep won for best supporting actress for Adaptation
I used to think he was a cockroach on screen until his wonderfully un-Gere performance in Unfaithful. This was just icing on the jazz cake:
Richard Gere for best supporting actor in a comedy/musical
there will be more on this later...
umm...
what?
whew ok they served alcohol that's what's going on (I hope)
Sharon Stone acted like a moron the entire night. She even tried to crash Richard Gere's moment. DIE WILL YOU.
ya still didn't win anything yet didya Leo
Ok, I'm done. There were no really good pictures for best comedy/musical which went to......
CHICAGO!
That was fun. I rarely have seen most of the films and can truly cheer a performance I think worthy.
