So I bought a monitor to replace my old 19" Sony and gave the 19" to Danielle.

My old setup:

30" Dell ---> 19" Sony

The Dell had a resolution of 2560x1600 and the Sony had a 1280x1024 resolution with no issues.

My new setup:

24" Acer ---> 30" Dell

The Acer has a resolution of 1920x1200 and the Dell should be able to display at 2560. However, the Dell now has a maximum resolution of 2048x1536. Also, any resolution I set the Dell at above 1024x768 causes the desktop to be displayed in a gigantic magnification which requires edge scrolling to see the entire thing. Has anyone heard of this problem before? I've done some research and am having trouble finding any solutions. Before you ask, I updated my graphics drivers a few days ago. Going to uninstall and reinstall them now.

Update: Bios, graphics card, and mobo chipset updated. Verified that the 30" monitor had the dual-link DVI cable connected. Also found that the NVidia Control Panel incorrectly identifies the 30" monitor's resolution as 1280x800.

Still scouring the net for answers. :-/
