Time receptionist checked me into Emergency Room: 1702 (5:02 PM).
Time of first x-ray: 2319 (11:19 PM).
That's six hours staggering around the Emergency Room, unattended, in shock with a
broken arm.
I've been to third world clinics that were run better.

She didn't get to see a doctor for seven hours, and the skin that he sowed back on died and rotted off, leaving a huge scar on her foot. I was fuming. We told them several times that she landed on her stomach, and that we hadn't felt the baby move since then, but that somehow didn't speed them up to get her seen. With no thanks to them, the baby turned out to be fine.

I tend to be (too) stoic. I noticed more histrionic people were seen faster. I wonder how I'd react if it was someone I loved whom was hurt, & not me.

Your point is taken though, that had I waited for the ambulance, someone (an EMT), would have helped my arm before dumping me in the Emergency Room for six hours.
Oddly, when others are hurt I've usually insisted upon an ambulance or other professional care.
