We have new kittens!
I've been up all night, but the payoff has been well worth it!
Our Maine Coon girl, Gracie, gave birth to 7 kittens tonight, starting at about 3:30 AM and finishing at about 4:15 AM. She popped them out almost casually, and so fast there was barely time for me to clean up one kitten before the next was born. They are healthy, fat, squirmy and LOUD. All are, unsurprisingly, brown tabbies (both Gracie and the kittens' father, Wonder, are brown tabbies).
I've attached a photo of mom showing off her brood. You can't see much of the babies -- they are a squirmy dark mass (much quieter in the photo than in person :-) but one thing's clear: Gracie is exceedingly pleased with herself. (And so she should be!)
