Its wrong, they CAN'T be doing this. DNA is real genetic material, not a commercial moneymaking scheme. Someone's genetic code is not a plaything for a child. I just find it so ridiculous that there's actually a product that is trying to be put out for this. It has no scientific value. It has no medical purpose, its just a gimmick that plays with something that should not be played with in this way.
I read on a link article from this site explaining in National Geographic the idea of creating "Chimeras". Animals that have human parts because of splicing the genes between the two. They've created a pig that has human blood running through it. That seems harmless enough in my book. It has minimal invasiveness and the animal has no big change (comparatively). It's the mice I worry about. They're trying to create a mouse that has human brains (no joke here). They've already "suceeded" with a mouse that has 1% of human brain like-ness, and are working to get a full human brain. Never mind the terrible sci-fi movies that may come of this, think for a second. How do people separate us from the animals - its our cognitive thought, our brain, our reasoning that gives us that difference. What happens when a mouse has a sense of identity? what happens when he can think? when he can reason? what happens when a mouse that has human inpulses is inside a rodent's body? how can he fulfill what he wants to do with what he is given? How can they reason "putting him to sleep" when at this point hes at least part human? Is this murder?
