I have to admit that the whole bit about Jodie and her passing the torch confused me a little, but Em was biting into my shoulder at the time so that might be why I'm a little confused about the whole lot of it, because teeth marks are a bit distracting, if you know what I mean, too bad there was that puddle and her feeling so bad but I think we made up for it last night.

Er, that was a rather long sentence. It's a good thing I don't work for the Prophet, isn't it? I think it'd be even less interesting. Aside from the bits on Frank Longbottom, but they always read like those romance novels Mum used to rant about. 'They don't have proper stories! The description is terrible!' Right, I think you understand. She always used to rave about Austen, though, and I guess no one really ... followed her? It's been a few years. She's been distracted by something else since then.

Anyway, I'll admit, side from Sybill being just grand, that I always thought Jodie was a nice girl. She was always so forward, and er, touchy, and Em became rather good at pointing her wand at her threateningly, but I never saw any harm. I guess I didn't have a chance to see her other side. I think I understand why Em was so threatening, too. I like the possessive side! If only we realised it sooner, yeah?

So, uh, I figure I should put my list about Em, anyway. To fill the spirit of things.

The Many Merits of Emmeline Amy Vance

1. She's beautiful. It's probably not the most intelligent assessment, but I think it's dead accurate. Mum even agreed, and says that we'd have perfect children, but she hasn't mentioned anything about letting us do it. Mum's a bit possessive of me, too, and it's a surprise she lets me have my flat. ... Even if she drops in five times a week at different times. Makes life a bit hard, too, but it is nice to come home to a clean place from time to time.

2. Witty! I wish I had her wit, that's all I can say. She's almost up to Ravenclaw standards in this area. I'm lacking a little bit, if you haven't noticed.

3. She's capricious! It's a very good word and I think it defines her well. Some people might not think it's a good thing, but it's made my life exciting.

4. She's loyal! She'd never run off or leave me be, unless it's for a chocolate frog card, but I understand that. That's a priority in life.

5. The biting thing! Only it's better when she's sober, I think. It's also better when she's not chewing on the collar of my shirt. I can't imagine that's very pleasant.

6. And er, other related things to that.

I can keep going on, I think, but it all comes down to perfection and that might be a bit much. Sorry this was all so boring; I'll try to be better later.
