It's raining and I forgot my umbrella. My brain sooo does not work at 5:30 in the morning.
My aqua-date with Mandy this morning was nice, but short. I'm fasting though, so it was probably good I didn't swim too long. I have oh so much to do today...oh so so much.
(all of this is tentative and Lord willing of course)I got an email from Mike this morning concerning more details for the Summer. You have no idea how incredibly excited I am. It has been so awesome just to see what the Lord has done so far to prepare me, and my family for this trip. So, I am officially on the "Slovakia/Serbia Team" and I will stay in Presov for the Slovak camp. So basically I will fly into Vienna, stay in Zilinia for a week with the other teams, then a week in Presov and Kukova, then JV training in Czec Rep. So that is the first three weeks, right? Then I think 2 weeks of living in Presov while working (hanging out with kids, going to schools, building relationships and doing whatever is needed) probably mostly in Presov, but some in Kukova as well. Then CAMP!! (<--one week) The next week will be spent alongside nationals preparing for the following week's CAMP in Serbia (the first one of its kind)!! Then a 4-day debriefing in Budapest, Hungary before I fly out. Oh, and I talked to Leah Pennington about a month ago, and she will be flying out with me!
I think it is pretty funny that there is an intern serving on one of the other teams whose name is Jonah Williams. Okay maybe it's not funny at all. Gosh. I wasn't aware that only a couple of us would be serving in Serbia, plus Jonas, so the two won't even get to meet (I don't think). What a shame. It will be pretty sweet to see my boyfriend after all that time apart...I am so exicited to find out what the Lord has in store for each of us, and just how much we will each be stretched and grow closer to Him. You may or may not know, but Jonas has taken the Youth Intern position at Winder Baptist for at least now through the summer, maybe longer. I think it's awesome for him to get that kind of experience. I also think he's awesome, but I know I'm a bit biased.
Hmph. So George just walked by my desk and told me that I could've gone to the Braves game with Him and his wife tonight (w/Nasty of course), but he gave the tickets to Lance and his wife already. Ugh. I sooo would've gone too...well, I mean I would've liked to if Jonas could. In other news I am meeting with Stephanie Collison around 4 and have dodgeball at 6. No plans for tonight, maybe just going to bed early...and cleaning for the parental unit's visit tomorrow (they're driving up here from Jacksonville, Fl). What am I going to do with them!? I have absolutely no idea. I guess I need to commit some thought to that one...any ideas?
Oh oh, last night, the message really hit me. Take a look at Pslam 62 if you have a chance. It is an awesome testament of how David realized the importance of waiting. The message last night was about waiting. Everybody waits for something or another, how waiting is neccessary for spiritual growth, no matter the circumastance--"while you are waiting, God is always working". To content with the Lord, before your desire is the ultimate goal here. He may give you a desire for something, but will never compete with it. Phillipians 4:11 and 2 Corinthians 9:12 best express this for me. Paul found sufficiency and was content (in Greek these two mean the same) in the Lord. I know waiting also stregthens faith because it excersizes trust. You have to trust to get though. Exodus 14:14, is kindof like that-like trusting and waiting on the Lord. Sometimes we just need to be still, because He will fight for us. He fought for me. On that note, I will be sharing a brief testament of my faith and getting Baptised this Sunday at Prince Avenue Baptist Chruch. It will be at the 11 o' clock service and you are welcome to come. Yes, you.
