Hula

I have discovered something better than a cabana boy and that is the hula boy. I always thought hula was mostly a girl thing, but it turns out that there are hula boys as well.  This is Joe and our friend Chuck with the hula boys. (I made my husband take off his shirt for this picture.)

Today we went snorkeling with dolphins. There were about 19 Japanese people on the boat and our group of seven. We didn't talk to the Japanese much but we had a great time. We snorkeled and watched the dolphins jumping and spinning and then just chilling under water. We saw fish and turtles and then the staff made us cheeseburgers and served us lunch and then did a little hula dance for us on the back of the boat. My friend G and I were laughing that hula is fun to watch from a distance but it's even more fun when it's being danced three feet away.

And despite my total objectification of these hot guys in their 20s, they were extremely nice and were great guides and hosts.

We also went to a show last night that featured lots of Polynesian dancing, including fire dancing. The fire dancers were amazing as were, again, the hula boys. Both were extremely talented and, um, hot.

All joking aside, we have been having a great time.  The beach house is gorgeous and our friends have been awesome.  Seriously, I could stay another week. Eta: I am now sitting under the house on the lanai on this awesome daubed/couch. Joe is out surfing enjoying the water as much as he can before go. This has been a fairly adult trip. Lots of alcohol and inappropriate humor. But it has been so awesome to just relax and not be responsible for anything. I feel lucky to have made such a great group of friends in the last year and i am so happy that Joe is going to Iraq with people i like so much. The pictures and the memories will last a long time.
