As some of you are probably aware I've been sans hiking for a good long while now, due to family commitments. However, I managed to get away for a three-dayer last weekend and now I sit here, stiff and sore, but feeling great to have been out in the fresh air again. Some photos of the trip: -
We collected water here for our lunch. So nice to drink fresh mountain water. No purification required!
A lot of bush fires have passed through this area in the last 10 years. Many many dead snow gums around. This is a detail of one of the fallen trunks.
I particularly liked this struggling snow gum, its fractilian outline contrasted against the blue sky with streaky clouds.
Very few flowers this time of year. Here's one.
