Assume a comfortable sitting postition
When you are ready, close your eyes
Become aware of your breathing. Breathe in deeply, hold the breath, the breathe out.
Allow each of your muscles to relax, deeply one after another. You may feel like you are floating, drifting, or gliding.
Maintain a passive attitude. Permit relaxation to occur at its own pace. Thoughts will pass through your mind. Allow them to come and go without resistance.
Continue for twenty minutes. You may open your eyes to check the time, but do not use an alarm. When you finish, sit quietly for several minutes. Open your eyes when you are ready.
