WHY are so many people running for this hero thing? I can't keep track of all of em'. Besides, who in the hell votes for that anyway? Being a hero is like getting respect, you know! You gotta earn it! Though I guess having some leadership wouldn't be a bad thing, but this all seems really chaotic.  I don't feel comfortable voting for anyone right

There's a lot more to being a "town hero" then just a name, I wonder just how many candidates actually plan on leading everyone in Mayfield...

I dunno. Some of them have to be serious, right? But the rest of them think it's a popularity contest or something. There's no other reason for it to turn into all of this.

I don't see why we have to "elect" a town hero. That's not how heroes usually work, is it?

Not at all. It's gonna take a lot of convincing to get me to do it.

It was pretty difficult to unite the town last time, I hope however gets elected is up to the task.

It doesn't seem like a good portion of them are taking this very seriously.

Last time? So this is a re-election?

I think so, but the "last time" I'm referring to is when the riots took place. A lot of people were fighting amongst themselves, and it got pretty bad. I just hope whoever this hero turns out to be is ready to handle something like that.

Riots? What riots?

Oh...well, a large group of people decided to rebel against the town. Doing things like attacking the school, setting things on fire, generally causing as much chaos as possible. Part of it was to test Grady, to see if there were limits to his power.

Were you here for when they started accusing people of being "monsters" on the telly? That was part of Grady's revenge on the town. Everyone was split on whether or not the riots were the correct way of handling things, and then when people were disappearing, it'll only made things worse.

Yeah, that monster stuff happened right after I got here. It all sounds really complicated.

Ah well, a lot of people were fooled by it, unfortunately. Myself included.

Uhhh. How so?

[he's asking this warily. He doesn't know if you were on the list, or hunting someone down on the list. 8| There are violent-ass kids in the shaman fight so your age doesn't exempt you from that possibility in his mind]

Erm...[he's a little embarrassed to admit it.] I was on their list of suspects, and after a while I really did start to think that I was responsible for the deaths on the list.

Of course, none of it turned out to be true.

Ah, right. It didn't, so don't worry about it, I guess. Least you weren't one of the idiots hunting people.

I sort of just kept my head down during that whole thing...

Good idea. I would've done the same if I hadn't been on that list.

I didn't like being cooped up for that long though, even if it was at the Professor's house.

Professor's house?

... [Hm. A Professor. And a bad British accent!]

Hey, are you Luke?
