Today, you may or may not notice a leaf or two or three missing from one of your precious potted plants. What an awful tragedy--your roommate would certainly know nothing about how delicious they were. And if it goes unnoticed and unmentioned, another leaf will be gone tomorrow.
He would certainly know nothing about that either.
