So on Saturday night, Dave and I went up to Brookline to see a midnight showing of Repo. The ride went by pretty fast. We killed the time by making fun of how shitty Twilight is and how much our customers suck.
Its a good thing that I got the tickets in advance because they completely sold out. We had to wait outside of the theater for like an hour too. It was a bit chilly but not as cold as its been the past two nights. Even if it was freezing, it would have been so worth it. The theater was really cool. It was an old style set up with ornate decorations and a big red curtain over the screen (kinda like the Avon but more elaborate and nicer). After the show, there was a Q&A with Darren Lynn Bousman (the director) and Terrence Zdundich (Graverobber) whom I met after that. During the Q&A Ogre (from the band Skinny Puppy, he plays Pavi Largo.) called so they put him on speakerphone. After that Alexa Vega (who plays Shiloh) randomly called too.
As far as the movie goes, it was fucking awesome! This movie is seriously the next Rocky Horror. People were dressed up in full costumes, carrying around blue glow sticks (zydrate which is a drug in the movie glows blue), singing along, and shouting out random stuff.
Highlights include: Comic book style art for the intro and random parts of the film, Repo Man sticking his hand into a hollowed out body and using it as a ventriloquist dummy to sing, random Joan Jett (wtf?), and Pavi Largo (He wears women's skinned faces as masks and carries a mirror around with him everywhere <3).
Probably the most fun I've ever had at a movie before in my life. I totally recommend seeing it if given the opportunity. I think it comes out on DVD next month but I can't wait to see it in the theater again!
On the way home it started snowing which sucked and we couldn't find an open Dunkin Donuts anywhere. We eventually came across one (I really needed caffeine). My coffee tasted like rancid ass. :( I had to down it anyway to stay awake. I ended up getting home at like 10 past 6 in the morning. I pretty much crashed right away. Good thing I worked a late shift the next day!
