First off, I notice the LJ smartphone app no longer exists. Is this some sort of Russian sanctions?
So ... today's e-post brought a link to someone investigating all those AI-generated pictures of Jesus, and all the non-bot "Amen" comments they attract.
I responded as follows:
A few months ago my FB feed was flooded with house plans for weeks. I don't recall if they were all from the same account, but they all were captioned "the most beautiful design". Last week there was a brief flurry of notifications with the template [Word][Word][number] "tagged you in a post". Also seeing all sorts of pictures with the "it's my birthday, I just want a wish" caption or slight variations.
And (because strange things happen where I work) last week I learned that scammers are using AI voice generation to play the age-old Lonely Hearts con game. A lady came in here expecting George Strait was going to whisk her away, like the Brazilian helicopter pilot in Up.
As for AI Picture Jesus, it's entirely likely we're in for AI Chatbot Satan (either cosplaying Jesus or merely claiming Wile E. Coyote levels of super genius). Add a few real or artificial crises further exposing the mendacious ineptitude of our elites, and we will be told the only way forward is Trust the Machines. Bless me, it's all in That Hideous Strength. And possibly in John's Apocalypse.
