So here I sit, it's 0224 hrs. and I still have to clean my room for tomorrow. Too much on the mind lately. Kind of all started when I found out that my roomie might be the Hannah SLR. NOthing is set in stone as of yet, but I am sure hoping that Brett unloads his things in my room tomorrow. If not...then I have the choice of rooming with a freshman, a transfer from Mequon who is very conservative/presem/has a lot of books and likes to read, a transfer from Arizona State University who is 21, or a guy from France. Ugh...Sometimes I just wish the administration would open their eyes and see that Paul needs to be opened this year.
I have also been pretty disappointed in the administration of the school, lately. Much money is going into people moving offices, putting walls up in what used to be the game room, and talk of having little concordia videos playing in hallways around campus for the visitors. WHAT THE FREAKIN HELL! First of all, I pay a crap load of money to go here and what did they do this summer? They decide to move the president, vice president, and secretary into the bookstore. Then the bookstore is moving into the gameroom so they can have "more room". That means that the students on campus lose one of the only places, that is not the dorm, to watch a movie as a group and not having to worry if the dorm hours are up. THe nest doesn't have a VCR or DVD player and the nest is usually too noisy to actually watch a movie and get involved in it without the freakin Eminem rap that seems to constantly be playing in the nest, way too loud. The administration also decided that the Art Gallery will not be used to show off students work any longer. There's more of my money wasted! I don't want to pay for something that the students won't get to use. Why doesn't the administration do something that would be for the students! Afterall, we are in college and are trying to prepare for the real world...so why not get an actual sound system in the chapel and get some technology in there so that people who end up going to a more contemporary congregation will know what they are doing. Why can't we get a pool on campus? That would be a really nice thing because there are many lifeguards on campus that would work at the on campus pool. You could get a gym credit for taking swimming class. We could do some outreach by holding swimming lessons on Saturday mornings, when the campus is fast asleep. It would be something that the students could do on a Saturday night, or do when they get worn out from so much homework and just need a break. When is the money going to benefit us outside of the classroom?
On a final note. I have recently realized that I am now 20, a JUNIOR in College, and have yet to have an actual girlfriend that I see everyday and don't live 600+ miles from. Yes, the long distance relationships are now long gone and I don't plan on going back to that at all. I have a good feeling about this year, but that is what I said last year:) I have a couple people in mind from Concordia, but ONE pops out from the rest of them. I just need patience.
Final Final Note...I am starting to now get my voice back. If some of you haven't noticed, I almost completely lost my voice from coughing for 3 days straight. I had one of those summer colds, with the stuffy head/fever/headache/cough...etc.
